Patna. The News. During his tenure as Industries Minister, Nitish Mishra made significant efforts to bring industry to the ground in Bihar. Under the Business Connect initiative, leading industrialists from across the country submitted firm investment proposals worth around ₹1.81 lakh crore, with 423 MoUs signed—a strong signal of growing industrial confidence in the state.
However, a political reshuffle led to his removal from the ministry, raising questions about whether that momentum will sustain.
In contrast, the power sector presents a different picture. Bijendra Prasad Yadav, who has handled the department for nearly 15–20 years, ensured continuity and steady progress. That consistency appears to have paid off, as he has once again been entrusted with the energy portfolio in the new Samrat government.
The takeaway is clear:
Where there is continuity, results follow. Where leadership changes, direction often comes under scrutiny.
